Monument to the dog-cosmonaut Zvezdochka
The Monument was opened on March 25, 2006, in the square on Molodezhnaya Street, Izhevsk. The author is the Izhevsk sculptor Pavel Medvedev. The sculpture is about a half meter height and made of metal. There are a story of the dog-cosmonaut and declassified names of specialists who cleared the way to space (known as "Zvezdochka's List" of 50 surnames). The text is duplicated in Braille alphabet (for the blind). Zvezdochka was the last dog-cosmonaut which safely returned to Earth. The decision on the first human space flight was finally made after its landing on March 25, 1961.

A former military commissar of the Fokinsky District of Perm Region Dmitry Sergeevich Mazunin and a former air-squadron commander of the Izhevsk airport Lev Karlovich Okkelman met on July 29, 1998 in Chaikovsky. They participated in search of the 5th descent space ship-satellite with the dog Zvezdochka on board on March 25, 1961.
